Caledonia Ramblers hike
The Caledonia Ramblers are hosting a hike up Pope Mountain near Fort St. James on Saturday, June 23rd.
The hike is rated moderate to strenuous, with a round-trip distance of about 13 kilometres and an elevation gain of 750 metres, much of it in the final climb to the gazebo at the top. It takes about three hours to go up and two to go down.
Participants should be equipped with proper footwear and a daypack carrying lunch, extra clothing, insect repellant and sunscreen. The forecast is for a hot, sunny day. Hiking poles are also recommended.
Meet at the city hall parking lot 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time of 7:30 a.m. The carpool fee is $15.
