The hike is rated strenuous with a length of 6.7 kilometres to the peak and an elevation gain of 1,059 metres. The hike should take about eight hours plus driving time. Participants should bring a day backpack, sufficient water or perhaps something else to drink, lunch and snacks, extra clothing and rain gear, insect repellent, gaiters, hiking poles and perhaps sunscreen and bear spray. Meet at the city hall parking lot 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time of 8 a.m. The carpool fee is $7.
