On Tuesday night, a Parks Canada helicopter spotted the missing couple’s bodies in the Verdant Pass area. Because it was getting dark, recovery efforts had to be delayed until Wednesday morning.
The couple went missing on Friday after going hiking. Their vehicle, a Hyundai Kona was located in a parking lot at Mount Edith Cavell Road trails.
Whitney Ferrier, a family member of Zabrina, shared an update on the search for the two on social media, saying that “they did what they loved to the last minute, and are together forever.”
Jasper RCMP said that they believe the couple was hiking and fell from a steep bank in the area.
An investigation into their deaths is ongoing.
