(Original story: June 29 @ 6:52 am): A number of salad products have been recalled from the Canadian market following an outbreak of cyclospora in the US.

Fresh Express is taking their salad items off the shelves after over 200 cases of illness connected with cyclospora were reported south of the border.

The products are sold in Walmart, among other stores.

Food contaminated with cyclospora, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) explained, might not look or smell bad but can still make people ill.

Diarrhea, stomach cramps and nausea are some of the symptoms associated with the parasite.

The CFIA said it was conducting an investigation into the products.

Fresh Express advised customers not to consume any of the affected products and to discard them immediately.
