1. Former Nazi camp guard, 101, jailed for 5 years

A 101-year-old man has been sentenced to five years in jail for assisting in the murder of prisoners at a Nazi concentration camp. A German court found Josef S guilty of aiding and abetting 3,518 murders.

2. At least 50 people found dead in truck

At least 50 people have been found dead in a truck near San Antonio, Texas. Officials said the people – believed to be migrants attempting to enter the United States illegally – died from heat-related illnesses.

In #Texas, at least 46 people were found dead inside an abandoned tractor-trailer along the #US and #Mexico border.

3. Duo arrested after fine art raid in Europe

Two people have been arrested after a gang of criminals smashed a glass case at a fine art fair in the Netherlands. Officials said the brazen raid appeared to be an attempt to steal priceless artifacts.

4. Journalist arrested over tweets

A journalist has been arrested in India because of his tweets. Mohammed Zubair has been accused of insulting Hindu beliefs on the social media platform.

5. Scottish leader planning another independence vote

Scotland could be set to hold another referendum on independence from the United Kingdom. The country's first minister – and leader of the Scottish National Party – said she wants the plebiscite to be held in October 2023, just under a decade after the last vote on independence.
