The university experience in Scotland is quite different this year. COVID-19 is running rampant through the country right now, including on post-secondary campuses, so students have been told to basically lock down. That means no going out to pubs or restaurants and no visiting families. There’s even talk about students being banned from going home for the holidays if this persists.
Imagine being a 17 year old student, fresh from school, turning up at your student accommodation and being told you must stay indoors possibly for the rest of the year and you won't even get home for Christmas. Very frightening.

Jamal Murray was already considered one of the NBA’s top players, but this year’s playoffs have been a true coming out party for the Canadian. Murray has led his Denver Nuggets to the Western Conference finals and despite a tough game four loss on Thursday, he scored an incredible basket that has drawn comparisons to the great Michael Jordan.

It’s official, the 73.5-foot wave surfed by Maya Gabeira earlier this year is not only the biggest wave ever surfed by a woman, it’s the biggest wave surfed by anyone during the 2019-20 winter season. It’s the first time a woman has held that honour. The 33-year-old Brazilian surfer rode the wave in Nazaré, Portugal back in February.

Kim Jong-un has issued an apology for the “unfortunate” fatal shooting of a South Korean official. The 47-year-old was allegedly trying to defect to North Korea, but was shot and killed by troops when he was discovered in North Korean waters. His body was also burned in line with anti-coronavirus regulations. Kim Jong-un says he “feels very sorry” for the incident.
