BC reporting over 700 new cases of COVID-19

British Columbia is reporting 759 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, this brings the provincial active case count to 5,458.

From the new/active cases this is where they are coming from in each region:

  • Interior Health: 233 new cases (1,223 active)

  • Fraser Health: 214 new cases (1,734 active)

  • Northern Health: 129 new cases (943 active)

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 101 new cases (877 active)

  • Island Health: 79 new cases (636 active)

  • Three new cases of people who reside outside of Canada (45 active)


There are currently 324 people in hospital from COVID-19, with 157 of those individuals in intensive care.

In the past 24 hours, 10 new deaths were reported bringing the provincial death toll to 1,910.

Of the new deaths, seven were reported in Fraser Health, two in Vancouver Coastal Health and one in Island Health.

There has been one new healthcare facility outbreak in Fraser Health, bringing the active total of outbreaks in BC to 23.

Interior Health: Village at Mill Creek – second floor, Cottonwoods Care Centre, Brookhaven Care Centre, Spring Valley Care Centre, Kamloops Seniors Village, Hillside Village, The Hamlets at Westsyde, Joseph Creek Care Village, Overlander, Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, David Lloyd Jones, Sun Pointe Village and Hardy View Lodge

Fraser Health: Northcrest Care Centre, Westminster House, Menno Terrace East, Chilliwack General Hospital and Sunset Manor

Vancouver Coastal Health: Arbutus Care Centre, Louis Brier Home and Hospital

Northern Health: Jubilee Lodge and Fort St. John Hospital

Island Health: Victoria Chinatown Care Centre


Since December, the province has administered 7,739,828 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Of eligible people 12 and older in BC, 87.1% (4,038,966) have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 79.7% (3,692,922) have received their second dose.

From the eligible adults in BC, 87.7% (3,792,240) have received their first dose and 80.5% (3,482,742) received their second dose.
