Snowbombing Canada at Sun Peaks cancelled for 2020

One of the prime music festivals left in British Columbia has been cancelled.

Snowbombing Canada at Sun Peaks began at the popular ski resort in the spring of 2017, bringing some of the world’s most notable electronic and hip hop acts to BC.

In October, the festival made an under-the-radar announcement that it would not be returning in 2020.

“Taking over the mountain year after year, Snowbombing Canada has strived to make it the biggest music festival on snow,” said the Instagram post.

“This year, we've decided to take a break to work on building a bigger and better adventure for all of our Snowbombers - see you on the mountain in the future.”

In April 2017, the inaugural Snowbombing brought names like Kaskade, Ludacris, Bob Moses, Duke Dumont, Snakehips and Thomas Jack to the resort just outside Kamloops.

The following year, the lineup featured Odesza and Cardi B, one of the biggest names in music, but Cardi B unfortunately dropped out less than a month before the show.

This past spring, Illenium and Cypress Hill headlined the festival, while Adventure Club, Griz, Keys N Krates, The Funk Hunters and others provided a great undercard.

We’ll have to wait and see if the festival makes its return to Sun Peaks in 2021.
