There’s still a few weeks left in summer, but the Pumpkin Spice Latte is already on people’s radars.
The popular fall drink is back at Starbucks across Canada today, offering a taste of fall when it’s still over 30°C in some areas.
“Our signature espresso and milk are highlighted by flavour notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove to create this incredible beverage that’s a fall favourite,” the Starbucks website says about their signature fall drink. “Enjoy it topped with whipped cream and real pumpkin pie spices.”
It’s been 15 years since Starbucks developed the Pumpkin Spice Latte, which made its debut in the fall of 2003.
Before it was made available around the world, however, British Columbians got to taste it first as it was tested in Vancouver, as well as Washington, D.C.
Sales exceeded Starbucks’ expectations and the company was unable to keep up with the initial demand, so it was added to the menu in all North American stores the following year.
Having become Starbucks’ most popular seasonal beverage, it’s a highly anticipated release every year it won’t be any different in 2018.
