UPDATE: Stolen 'Frenchies Poutinerie' food trailer found

(UPDATE: Aug. 20 @ 8 pm) - A beloved Kamloops food trailer which was stolen in late July has officially been found.

According to a Facebook post made by "Frenchies Poutinerie," the customized trailer was located by Barrière RCMP and one helpful resident of the area.

"Thanks to the Barrière RCMP and an awesome resident for finding our trailer hidden on a property just before Barrière," reads the post.

While the owners have yet to see the condition of the trailer, police have assured them that it is "not a total loss."

The trailer is set to make the 45-minute trek back to Kamloops once forensic fingerprinting has been completed by the Barrière detachment.

(Original Story: July 30 @ 7 pm) - A Kamloops man is appealing to the public for any help tracking down a customized food trailer that was stolen early Tuesday morning.

Élie Hanna says the customized “Frenchies Poutinerie” trailer was stolen between 2:30 am and 6 am from 6th Avenue and Pine Street near downtown Kamloops.

A police report has been filed and the 26-foot-long trailer was reportedly spotted in Salmo, BC around 5 pm on Tuesday evening.

The terrible news is compounded by the fact Hanna and his food trailer were scheduled to serve as a vendor at country music festival Rockin' River in Merritt beginning Aug. 1st.

He says he purchased 12,000 pounds of potatoes to feed hungry festival-goers over the weekend and the $20,000 investment is at risk of going to waste.

Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3068.
