People gather for a beautiful summer’s eve at the Meadow Vista Night Market

A good crowd of people gathered at Meadow Vista Honey Wines in East Kelowna to enjoy a beautiful summer night in the Okanagan.

The first of four night markets to be held this summer, a variety of vendors, food trucks, and live music set up quaint farm this evening.

Visitors can listen to tunes by local musician Jesse Blashill, and grab a snack from Dosa Crepe Cafe food truck while browsing through 20 vendors, including Stems&Stones, Crescent Moon Glass, Lostlake Studios, S&M Soap Co., 351 Apparel, and more.

They also have five different honey wines (also known as mead) for people to sample that are made using BC ingredients like honey, apples, cherries, and blackberries.

This is the second year that Meadow Vista Honey Wines has had the night market on their farm.

This year, there are more vendors and more variety. The majority of them are from the Okanagan, however some travelled from other parts of BC to come to the market.

“It supports the artists and it also gives residents and locals something to do,” Karalyn Lockhart from Craft Culture said about the importance of the event.

“There are so many tourists that come into town and you can hit up the beach and you can go downtown, but this is something a little bit different.”

Lockhart says the market aims to create a chill vibe, and says the nice part of having a low key market is being able to connect with the vendors and enjoy the sunshine.

The markets run from 4 p.m to 8 p.m., so you can still catch tonight’s event, or catch one of the other three dates.

There is no admission to get in, and there will be a market on July 26, August 9, and August 23. Meadow Vista Honey Wines is located at 3975 June Springs Rd.
