The Parkinson Recreation Centre is hopping this afternoon thanks to the buzzing atmosphere provided by the 16th annual Victory Life Pancake Breakfast.
Combining fun and philanthropy, the event welcomes one and all to join in on a day of free Easter-themed fun.
“We are building a community, we are opening up an event for people to participate in and to have a good time on this good Friday,” said Victory Life’s lead pastor, Dieter Tripke.
From ring tosses and bounce houses to ongoing easter egg hunts, breakfast, other sweet treats and more — the event has no shortage of ways to enjoy an afternoon with friends and family.
In addition to various activities, the event also offers up ways to give back to the community by encouraging guests to bring non-perishable food items for the Central Okanagan Food Bank.
“It just fulfills a passion that I have in my heart to reach people,” said Tripke.
Not only are the folks at Victory Life hoping to assist those in need through the food bank, but by also hosting a free sneaker swap and clothing table for attendees benefit from.
Within the short four hours, Tripke anticipates the event will see nearly 4,000 people through the grounds but believes the hard work is all worth it to see community members enjoying themselves.
“When we finish at the end of the day our backs may be sore but our hearts are warm with all that we’ve had the privilege of doing here today,” added Tripke.
The event is on until 2 p.m. today with all activities and snacks available right until the end.
