Lake Country woman still trying to convince husband their $1M lotto win is real

Darryl’s Brown’s husband may have to see the money in the couple’s bank account before he truly believes their good fortune.

The Lake Country woman had to check “again and again and again” before it really sunk in that she won a $1 million Maxmillions prize from the June 11 Lotto Max draw.

Her husband was the first person she shared the news with and he was also quite skeptical.

“I showed my husband and he said ‘someone is messing with you! This can’t be real!’ He still doesn’t completely believe it,” she explained.

Brown, who used the words “disbelief” and “excitement” to describe her life-changing win, is looking forward to a barbecue with family and friends to celebrate.

She is eyeing travel in 2022 with her newfound fortune and Amsterdam is the first destination on her list.

The $1 million won’t all go towards travel, however, as Brown also wants to help out her family with the funds.

The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven on 39th Avenue in Vernon.
