The Penticton RCMP have made an arrest in relation to a robbery that took place last month.
At about 4 a.m. on June 20, 2019, police responded to a report of a robbery at the rest stop at Yellow Lake on Highway 3.
The victims were sleeping inside a U-Haul van at the rest stop. At 3 a.m. they were awoken by a man who allegedly demanded money from the pair. The man also reportedly threatened them with a firearm.
The couple handed over personal belongings and the suspect locked them in the back on the van.
They were able to call 911 from their cell phone.
Later that morning, an Oliver RCMP officer located and arrested three suspects who were belived to be involved in the robbery, however the fourth primary suspect was not found.
Today, officers in Penticton were alerted to the whereabouts of the fourth suspect, who was residing in Okanagan Falls.
Cst. James Grandy said that, as a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and will appear in BC Provincial Court on July 12.
