Firefighter camp being established in Penticton Sunday night

The City of Penticton announced early Sunday evening that a temporary firefighters' camp is being established tonight within city limits.

The camp will be located at King's Park and the adjoining Adidas Sportsplex. It will serve out-of-town firefighters battling the increasingly worrisome Keremeos Creek blaze southwest of Penticton.

"BC Wildfire will be utilizing the Adidas Sportsplex and Kings Park for approximately 100 crew and apparatus over the next few days to assist in fighting the Keremeos Creek Wildfire," said the service announcement.
