(UPDATE: Sept. 20, 2021 @ 10:43 pm): Cannings has secured victory in the South Okanagan West Kootenay riding.
The incumbent candidate has a lead of over 3,000 votes, with all but a few polls reporting results. He has 41% of the vote, and is followed by Helena Konanz with 35%.
(UPDATE: Sept. 20, 2021 @ 9:50 pm): Richard Cannings is creeping closer to victory this evening for South Okanagan West Kootenay.
The incumbent candidate now has over 40% of the vote, and over 80% of polls have reported results.
He is followed closely by Conservative Helena Konanz, who has just over 35% of the vote at this time.

As the results continue to roll in, Richard Cannings of the New Democratic Party (NDP) is in the lead.
At the time of this writing, the two-term incumbent candidate has 5,299 votes as 34%, or 100 out of 289, of the polls are reporting.
The Conservative candidate Helena Konanz is close behind with 4,668 votes.
Ken Robertson of the Liberal Party is in third with 1,775 votes. He is followed by Sean Taylor of the People's Party of Canada and Tara Howse of the Green Party.
