'Tis the season for Peach Fest announcements.

Last week we learned the 2024 iteration of Tim Hortons Country Night, on Thursday, Aug. 8, will feature Grammy-nominated Steven Lee Olsen in the headline spot.

If you don’t know much about Olsen, do a quickie Internet search on the guy. The Canadian singer-songwriter with the cool voice co-wrote huge tunes like "Blue Ain't Your Color," which currently sits at 400 million YouTube views for Keith Urban.

Leading off for Olsen will be another Canadian, Quebec-born and Nashville-based Lydia Sutherland. Sutherland's written several hundred songs, several of which have been picked up by other artists. And in 2022 she grabbed a label deal with Universal Music Canada. She's on her way up.

But today was the big unveil – the announcement of the two musical acts that'll hit the Peter Bros. Main Stage on the signature night of the festival, Saturday, Aug 10.

In the headline spot is legendary Canadian rock band Honeymoon Suite. Founded in 1982 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Honeymoon Suite was a huge force in the '80s with mega-hits like "New Girl Now," "Bad Attitude" and "Burning in Love" charting all over the place and often popping up in TV shows and movies too.

PentictonNow would like to add that we caught the full Honeymoon Suite show when they appeared at the 2022 Peach Fest, and it still ranks as one of the best performances we've ever seen at the Festival.

This was no paint-by-numbers gig. The band gave it their all from start to finish, and the crowd responded. Just a great night of quality live rock and roll.

Opening for Honeymoon Suite is another Canadian rock band that'll likely sound great live on the Penticton lakefront, Vancouver band Odds.

Known for their infectious melodies and clever lyrics, Odds haven’t had quite the chart-topping success of Honeymoon Suite, but that doesn't mean they aren’t a great band.

"Heterosexual Man," a smart, funny song with a video featuring three members of Kids in the Hall (one, Dave Foley, dressed in drag), is just about as catchy as rock music can get. Other celebrated Odds compositions include "Truth Untold," "Eat My Brain" and "Not a Lot Goin' On."

The latter is the well-known theme song to long-running sitcom Corner Gas.
