UPDATE: RCMP continue to investigate unsolved homicide

(UPDATE: Dec. 20 @ 12:20 p.m.) - Prince George RCMP continue to investigate the fatal shooting of a local man that took place last week.

At around 5 p.m. on Dec. 14, the RCMP received a report of possible gunshots fired on the 700 block of Johnson Street.

Multiple officers attended the scene and found a man outside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds. The 30-year-old man was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.

RCMP did not locate any suspects.

RCMP’s serious crime unit continues to lead the priority investigation and significant efforts are being made to identify and arrest the person, or people, responsible.

Police are confident that it was a targeted attack and the general public is not at risk.

(Original story: Dec. 15) - Yesterday at around 5 p.m. the Prince George RCMP received a report a possible shots fired on the 700 block of Johnson Street.

Multiple officers attended the area and soon located a man outside a residence suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The 30-year-old man was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries a short time later.

Police have not located any suspects.

Although the investigation is in its early stages, police are confident that this was a targetted attack.
