RCMP searching for man after attempted armed robbery of woman in Prince George

The Prince George RCMP is searching for a suspect after an attempted armed robbery earlier this week.

It happened around 11 pm on Wednesday in the 400 block of Carney Street.

Police learned that the man had approached a woman in a parking lot and produced what appeared to be a handgun before demanding money.

“The suspect fired the gun twice, leading the victim and witnesses to believe the gun was a cap gun,” explained Cpl. Craig Douglass. “The suspect fled empty handed, west towards Douglas Street before police arrived.”

Multiple frontline officers and a police dog service team were unable to locate the suspect.

The only information known about him is that he was wearing dark clothing at the time.
