The bears are back.
Until the end of the year, stuffed bears have returned to BC Liquor Stores and are available to purchase for $11.70.
When you purchase one of these bears, you get to take one home while a second bear is donated to a local shelter, hospital or other charity.
Since the program began in 1989, more than 670,000 stuffed bears have been given to charities throughout British Columbia.
"BC Liquor Stores teams are proud to have distributed more than 22,000 donated bears last year," said Jonathan Castaneto, director of store operations at BCLS.
"They brought smiles to the faces of needy children all over the province."
This year’s bears come in black and tan, each of them wearing an adorable plaid bowtie and featuring a maple leaf on their paw.
Over 46,000 bears have been distributed to nearly 200 BCLS locations across the province, meaning there will be at least 23,000 bears being donated.
Many customers choose to get very into the giving spirit and donate both bears.
You will also have the chance to enter a draw to win a larger version of the Share-a-Bear, with two winners being drawn at each of the province’s 197 BCLS locations.
