After a challenging 18 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Girl Guides of Canada are back to a “new normal” and ready to sell their iconic classic chocolate and vanilla sandwich cookies door-to-door and at public locations.
The spring campaign was cancelled due to the COVID-19 regulation that were in place at the time.
There are more than 50,000 boxes of cookies in the Delta warehouse ready to be sent out this weekend to begin the fall campaign.
"Every box of cookies supports those empowering opportunities for thousands of girls across British Columbia and helps young people have fun, make friends, and discover the world around them,” says Diamond Isinger, Girl Guides of Canada provincial commissioner for BC.
Last year, the campaign depended on the help from local retailers such as London Drugs and Save On Foods to raise funds and sell the cookies.
Online sales will begin Friday, Oct. 1, with a limited quantity available, alongside the traditional in-person sales.

"When supporters buy Girl Guide cookies, they are also helping girls build skills that will help them soar, like planning and setting goals, gaining confidence, financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills, solving problems and making decisions, connecting with community members, and having fun while working together,” Isinger explains.
