Mounties are appealing for information after a Belgian couple honeymooning in British Columbia had their $15,000 bike stolen while they went for a hike.
It was stolen in Nanaimo on the afternoon of June 8 while the newlyweds were visiting Collier Dam.
They had fastened their E-bike to the rack on the back of their motorhome while they explored the park, but when they returned it was gone.
The lock securing it to the rack had been cut and was lying on the ground nearby.
They left their motorhome at about 2 p.m. and returned at 3:30 p.m.
“We reached out to the couple for more details on the make and model, and serial number for the bike but we have not received a call back,” Constable Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP said.
“They are most likely continuing their travels but, sadly, without their very expensive bike.”
Anyone who has information is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP on 250-754-2345.
