The Vancouver Police Department is working diligently to identify a man who allegedly exposed himself to a young girl at a local elementary school.
In the meantime, police are urging residents in the area to be vigilant.
The incident happened at Lord Roberts Elementary School in downtown Vancouver between 2-2:30 pm on Monday.
According to police, the unknown man approached an eight-year-old girl on the playground and exposed his genitals to her.
He fled the area before police could arrive.
“A child should never have to be exposed to such a disturbing act,” said Cst. Tania Visintin.
“There’s no doubt this would have frightened the young student. She did the right thing by telling a trusted adult immediately.”
