One suspect arrested, another on the run after armed home invasion in BC

Police in Quesnel continue to investigate an overnight home invasion that happened on the weekend.

The RCMP was called to the scene in the 300 block of Hoy Street around 2:10 am Sunday.

Police learned that two suspects broke into a residence, bear sprayed at least one victim and damaged several items inside.

The man was reported to be in possession of a handgun during the home invasion, an RCMP release added.

The suspects have been identified as a 26-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, and Sgt. Clay Kronebusch says they are known to the victims.

According to police, the woman was arrested outside of their residence in the 400 block of North Fraser Drive, which is just 600 metres away.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the home, but were unable to locate the second suspect.

“The outstanding suspect is known to police,” added Kronebusch.

The female suspect has been released pending a future court date, while the RCMP is still trying to locate the male suspect.
