There’s sure to be at least a few Dr. Bonnie Henry costumes floating around this year for Halloween.
BC’s top provincial health officer has been a daily figure during the COVID-19 pandemic with her reassuring mantra of “Be Kind, Be Calm, Be Safe.”
While it remains to be seen what exactly Halloween night will look like during a pandemic, one BC home has already used the festivities to pay homage to Dr. Henry.
In the town of Mill Bay on Vancouver Island, one house has created an elaborate and spooky set up featuring Dr. Henry and her famously trendy shoes.
Victoria-based concert photographer Colin Smith posted the display on his Facebook page.
“Looks like a salute to essential/front line workers to me,” Smith wrote of the Vancouver Island home. “Great job!”
Some unsung heroes of the pandemic such as grocery store clerks, pet shop employees and of course health care workers also received some recognition in the display.
Dr. Henry has stopped short of calling off Halloween and trick-or-treating, but has admitted the big night will look different this year.
Residents are being asked to celebrate safely by sticking to small groups outside, skipping parties, wearing masks, and keeping to your small “safe-six” bubble.
