(UPDATE: Nov. 29 @ 10:40 am) – Many highways across the south west region of BC remain closed due to ongoing rainfall and risks of debris on the roads.
Highway 1, between Popkum and Hope, remains closed as assessments continue Monday morning.
Highway 1, between Hope and Boston Bar, is now open with a travel advisory in effect.
Highway 3, from Hope to Princeton, remains closed due to heavy rainfall.
The next update for these highways from DriveBC is expected at noon, Nov. 29.

Highway 99, from Pemberton to Lillooet, also remains closed with no estimated time of opening.
DriveBC explains that this closure will be re-evaluated with the next update due on Tuesday at 10 am.
The above closures were put into effect on Saturday in an effort to protect motorists from potential risks such as rockslides or localized flooding.
Highway 1, between Chilliwack and Abbotsford, closed Sunday evening at 5 pm due to water on the road.
This section of the Trans-Canada Highway remains closed due to flooding.
The next update is anticipated on Tuesday at 10 am.
(UPDATE: Nov. 28 @ 4:15 pm) – In this afternoon’s update, DriveBC still has many roads closed due to ongoing weather conditions.
Shortly after 4 pm, DriveBC provided an update for Highway 3 between Hope and Princeton.
This section of highway will remain closed overnight due to heavy rainfall and the risk of debris on the road.
The next update is due for Monday at 10 am.

Highway 1, from Hope to north of Boston Bar remains under a travel advisory due to heavy rainfall with the next update at 6 pm.
However, the highway remains closed from Jackass Mountain north to Lytton due to a mudslide and between Lytton and Spences Bridge – updates are expected on Tuesday at 9 pm.

(Original Story @ Nov. 27 @ 12:15 pm) –On Friday, BC’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure announced it will be closing a few stretches of highway due to incoming weather conditions.
The ministry stated that the following highways will be closed for an undetermined amount of time:
Hwy 1 between Hope and Boston Bar
Hwy 1 between Hope and Popkum
Hwy 3 between Hope and Princeton
Hwy 99 between Pemberton and Lillooet
These sections of BC’s highways are “extremely vulnerable” following the recent storm and flooding events.
Due to incoming weather, tomorrow afternoon we will be proactively closing Highway 3 between Hope and Princeton, and Highway 99 between Pemberton and Lillooet.

In addition to weather concerns, the closure of Highway 1 between Popkum and Hope is necessary due to reservoir releases by BC Hydro.
Highway 99 between Pemberton and Lillooet will be closed at 4 pm today.
The reopening of them will depend on the weather and the closures are to be re-evaluated Sunday morning (Nov. 28).
