Following an emergency landing by Swoop Airlines, a passenger has shared footage of the tense moments aboard the plane.
On Tuesday, a Swoop flight bound for Edmonton was forced to return to Abbotsford shortly following take off after striking a large bird.
Footage posted to Instagram by a passenger shows large flames exiting the plane's wing several times in a row while cries of “fire!” can be heard int he background.
A Facebook post made by a passenger on the flight claimed that, after departure, they heard a loud thud.
They described smoke filling the cabin and a smell of something burning.
Luckily, the crew and all 176 passengers all made it off the flight just fine, however, the airport did experience some delays.
There was a birdstrike at YXX - the Aircraft has landed safely passengers have been offloaded into the terminal safely. Updates will be available in the coming hours.
