(Update: May 5, 2024 @ 3:30 pm): Hwy 97 remains closed in both directions near Falkland.
The next update from DriveBC is expected sometime around 5 pm.
Northbound motorists can take Salmon River Road as a detour and those heading southbound should take Hwy 1 to Hwy 97b.

The incident is west of Falkland between Wetaskiwin Road and Back Road.
DriveBC adds that an assessment is in progress and an update is expected shortly.
