UPDATE: Hwy 14 in open after serious vehicle incident

(Update: April 14, 2021): Highway 14 was reopened last night after a vehicle incident.

Sooke RCMP closed the road for a few hours while investigating a serious incident.

A vehicle incident has closed Highway 14 in Sooke.

DriveBC says the road is closed in both directions between Kemp Lake Road and Grant Road W.

Crews are on site, and a detour is in effect via Otter Point Road.

The next update is expected at about 4 pm.

Sooke RCMP would like to advise the motoring public that W. Coast Rd. is closed between Grant Rd. West and Otter Pt. Road while front line members investigate a serious incident. Emergency services are currently on scene and the public will be advised when the road is open.
