VGH poinsettia campaign raises $17K for children's waiting room

Generosity is in the air, and an annual fundraising campaign has proven a success with $17,000 raised for the Victoria General Hospital (VGH).

For nearly a decade, Victoria General Hospital Auxiliary (VGHA) has been raising money through the Poinsettias for Patients campaign.

This year, the foundation's fundraising efforts will go towards building a special waiting room for children in the Emergency Department.

The funds will enable them to have a professional mural painted by Victoria artist Marcela Strasdas and her team.

"It’s difficult enough having to go to Emergency without having to wait in the general waiting room sometimes for many hours," said the VGHA.

Donations were also received so that poinsettias could be given to people working in emergency and security.
