Kelowna's newest pharmacy is entering the marketplace with a different kind of business model. The store aims to be the Pharmacy of choice for a demographic that few entrepreneurs give much thought to. The homeless, drug addicts and downtown street people.
It's called SRX Specialty Pharmacy and it's open in the Library Parkade building on Ellis Street. Manager Jas Maan said the business is specifically geared to help with problems like Hep C and Opioid addictions. "What we want to be doing here in downtown Kelowna is be providing care for a lot of the disenfranchised people," said Maan. The office is set-up so patients can take part in telehealth consultations with Doctors off-site. There is also an emphasis in providing specialized support for patients who may need help with insurance and other paperwork issues.
The Grand Opening is scheduled for February 7th.
