The Toronto Blue Jays are playoff bound!
Those words haven’t been said since 2016, but after a 4-1 win over the New York Yankees on Thursday, Jays fans can officially say it once again.
No excuses. No quit.

Even though it’s a shortened season where 16 teams make the playoffs instead of the usual 10, you won’t hear anyone in the Blue Jays clubhouse complaining.
With a young roster that certainly wasn’t expected to compete like they have for another year or two, making the post-season is a major accomplishment.
The team didn’t even get to play in Toronto this year, as the closed border between Canada and the United States forced them to call Buffalo home for the past two months.
“I’m just so proud of my club and everything we’ve gone through all year,” said manager Charlie Montoyo after Thursday’s playoff-clinching win.

They’ll have three more games in Buffalo against the Baltimore Orioles to close out the regular season and then they’ll say goodbye to their temporary home.
The first round of the playoffs is a best-of-three series played entirely in the top seed’s ballpark, which means the Blue Jays are likely heading to Tampa Bay to try and knock off the Rays.
If they manage to upset the division winners and move on, the final three rounds of the playoffs will all be contested in four different bubbles in Texas and California.
At this point, the Blue Jays won’t care where they play, as long as they’re playing October baseball.
