The 2024 Paris Olympics are officially the most successful non-boycotted Summer Games for Canada after athletes added a trio of medals on Saturday to raise the country’s tally to 27.
The day started with Katie Vincent making history as the first Canadian woman to win a gold medal in any canoe or kayak event at the Olympics.
Vincent did so in the C-1 200m event (solo canoeing) as she crossed the finish line with a time of 44.12 seconds.
The Canadian set a world record with her time and just barely squeaked past an American, who finished with a time of 44.13 seconds.
