Timberwolves women's soccer team adds newest member

Jenna Wild will be joining the UNBC Timberwolves women’s soccer team for the 2018-2019 season.

Wild has spent the last two years studying at the University of Victoria.

When the 20-year-old came for a visit to the UNBC campus earlier this year, she knew it would be the perfect chance to play soccer at the Canada West level.

“It means a lot. I didn’t know I would be up here at this time, but I am really excited to have this opportunity. To be able to train with these girls and with Neil,” said Wild.

The Victoria native played youth with a number of current Timberwolves members and was even coached by Neil Sedgwick.

Sedgwick acknowledges Wild’s ability to process the game and make great decisions with the ball as her two best qualities.

“Jenna brings tremendous maturity and energy to our program,” said Sedgwick

“She has a very high soccer intelligence, and it allows her to find key spaces on the field that help us attack defenses. We are thrilled to have her.”

Wild has been participating in preseason training camp with her new teammates in preparation for the season opener in September.

She plans on continuing her studies and completing her Bachelor of Arts at UNBC. Wild will be joining her Timberwolves family in the opening their schedule on Sept. 8, at UBC Okanagan.

Welcome to the team!
