Strong wind and heavy rain hit the Okanagan like a ton of bricks late Wednesday evening.
It came and went quickly, but the storm left its mark as trees were knocked down and power was knocked out in multiple areas.
Okanagan residents got to enjoy a fairly nice fall day today, a bit of a calm after the storm, but should prepare themselves for more windy and rainy weather this weekend.
“We have another organized weather system crossing the BC Interior on Friday, generating both rain and wind, along with the risk of thundershowers,” explained Wesla English, NowMedia meteorologist.
“Wind gusts will be near 40km/h, but possibly more for areas that will be affected by the potential thunderstorms.”
It’s the first weekend of fall, so it’s as good of a weekend as you could get to stay inside, bundle up and watch a movie while the rain falls and the wind howls outside.
English says that things should gradually dry out over the weekend and signs point to warmer air moving in for next week.
