A snowfall warning has been issued for parts of the BC Interior this morning.
Environment Canada is warning of up to 15 centimetres of snow in the following places:
Central Okanagan – including Kelowna
South Okanagan – including Penticton
South Thompson
Fraser Canyon
Nicola
“The snow will continue all day giving accumulations up to 15 cm over elevations just above valley bottom,” Environment Canada explained.
“Accumulations will be 10 cm or less at valley bottom due to temperatures being just above freezing.”
The agency also warned of low visibility and problems on roads and walkways.
“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions,” it added.
A separate warning has been issued for high-elevation roads.
Snowfall Warnings and Special Weather Statements are in effect for most of southern B.C. Mountain passes will get the heaviest snow with 10-20 cm possible before tapering this evening.
