1. Ice Cube defends working with Trump campaign amid backlash

Rapper Ice Cube has responded to criticism over working with the White House. He argued that “Black progress is a bipartisan issue” and “talking truth to power is part of the process.” Despite his work with the Trump administration, he says he hasn’t “endorsed anybody” ahead of the election.

2. Toronto police identify killer in Christine Jessop's murder from 1984

A cold case file has been closed after police identified the suspect in a suspect in a 1984 murder in Toronto. Calvin Hoover of Toronto has been identified through a DNA sample found on Christine Jessop's underwear. Hoover, who was known to the Jessop family, died in 2015. Police added that this brings closure to the family, and to Guy Paul Morin, who was wrongfully convicted and later exonerated for the crime.

Vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris is suspending in-person events until Monday after her communications director and a flight crew member tested positive for COVID-19.

4. Melania Trump details her experience with COVID-19, says her son Barron also tested positive

Melania Trump shared her experience with COVID-19 earlier this month in a blog post, and revealed that her teenage son also contracted the virus.

5. Ontario may need to raise taxes to cover COVID-19 costs

Ontario’s fiscal watchdog has warned that the province may be in for a tax increase next year to deal with the record deficit, which is projected to reach $37.2 billion this year.
